Susan Rogers is a sculptor artist, who grew up in Arlington, TX and is a graduate of North Texas State University. She later moved to Arizona in the early 90s and soon fell in love with the southwestern culture as the local landscape was characterized by warm tones, with a variety of textures, and earthy decors. Every place is special and has a different feel to it, and the energy in the air started to enlighten her artistic abilities and that when she decided to begin her journey as a sculptor artist using stained-glass, clay, metal work and mix media.
Rogers is fascinated with spirit aninamls which in many traditions and cultures are considered to help, guide and protect human beings on their journey of life. This concept greatly inspired her to visualize, and create her own stained-glass figurines.
As per Susan “it is a unique process to perceive, just an idea of making a figure with stained glass. As soon as I see the patterns on the glass, I get different ideas running through my mind, where I visualize different characteristics and theme of the next figure".
Susan lives in a small town in the White Mountains of Arizona with her husband and dogs.
