Martin Beaupre

Martin Beaupré is a Canadian painter whose work explores the relationship between energy, balance, and inner stillness. His compositions are defined by serene, uncluttered spaces and a refined use of muted tones, inviting a quiet, contemplative experience.

Born in Quebec in 1961, Beaupré has spent decades developing a visual language rooted in both intuition and discipline. In 1995, he founded the Médit’Art workshop, where he teaches modern and intuitive painting. He has also led art therapy workshops for both amateur and professional artists, working in environments ranging from the deserts of the United States to the tropics of Hawaii.

His paintings reflect a balance between movement and calm, combining subtle dynamism with a strong sense of tranquility. Working in oil, modeling paste, sand, ink, and Swarovski crystal, Beaupré builds layered surfaces that enhance both texture and light. White plays a central role in his work, serving as a symbol of openness and the possibility of the infinite.

Influenced by his travels throughout Asia, particularly in Thailand and Japan, Beaupré draws inspiration from Buddhist philosophy and traditional Japanese aesthetics. His work reflects a belief in restraint—the idea that space should be honored rather than filled, and that simplicity can carry profound impact. Recurring elements such as cherry blossoms, mountains, and meditative figures emerge with intention, each contributing to a sense of balance and quiet harmony.

His work invites viewers into a reflective experience, where form and space exist in harmony and every element is thoughtfully considered. Through this balance, Beaupré creates paintings that evoke calm, clarity, and a deeper sense of connection.
