Rodrigo (Jing P. Ma) was born in Henan, China, in 1979, during a pivotal period marked by China’s evolving perspectives towards the global community and its internal transformations in the “New China” era. The world was opening up as Rodrigo took lessons in various art forms, eventually choosing oil painting as his preferred medium for artistic expression.
In 1999, Rodrigo graduated from Henan University of Education. Over the next few years, he worked at several arts related endeavors while developing his skills as a professional artist. In 2003, Rodrigo participated in his inaugural major art exhibition in Hong Kong, followed by a remarkable achievement the following year when he clinched first place at the Beijing Art Expo. Rodrigo’s artistic evolution led him to develop his distinctive style, characterized by nature scenes brought to life through intricate, heavily textured techniques, creating a visual depth reminiscent of a third dimension.
In 2012, Rodrigo realized a long-cherished dream by establishing connections that enabled his work to be showcased in the United States. Rodrigo lives in Spain where he has a studio. His works are being enthusiastically received by a growing number of collectors worldwide.
