Rodrigo

Rodrigo (Jing P. Ma) is a contemporary painter known for his richly textured landscapes that bring scenes of nature to life with striking depth and dimension. Working primarily in oil, his compositions are defined by intricate surface detail and a technique that creates a strong sense of movement and atmosphere.

Born in Henan, China, in 1979, Rodrigo came of age during a period of cultural and artistic expansion. He explored multiple art forms before ultimately focusing on oil painting as his primary means of expression. After graduating from Henan University of Education in 1999, he continued to develop his practice while working in various art-related fields.

His early career included notable milestones, beginning with a major exhibition in Hong Kong in 2003, followed by first-place recognition at the Beijing Art Expo the following year. Over time, he developed a distinctive style centered on natural landscapes, using heavily layered textures to create a sense of depth that often feels almost three-dimensional.

In 2012, Rodrigo expanded his reach internationally, establishing connections that brought his work to audiences in the United States. He now lives and works in Spain, where he maintains his studio. His paintings continue to gain recognition among collectors worldwide for their technical precision and immersive quality.
